Intro to writers choice

The piece I’ve chosen as my writer’s choice is titled “the unexpected” which I had gotten originally from a previous homework assignment. It is a story that entails on an experience that I had as a child. I had been run over by a large truck and had been nearly killed because of my inexperience at riding a bike and the truck driver’s ignorance by not looking to see what’s behind him before he runs people over. I believe that this story is essential to my writing because it is very vivid and entertaining. It utilizes my ability to write on a fact based story level which helps in many ways for writing throughout life. In the story I use many metaphors to help readers visualize my experience. Much of the original story I revised so it would be more expressive because at first I shortened it up a bit since it was for a homework assignment and didn’t require the lengthiness that the story deserved. I feel confident that this story was written better than most of my assignments because I could be passionate about it since it was based through my eyes. It is one of the most vivid memories I have as a child, but it was defiantly worth the life lesson it taught me, which was pay attention to your environment at all times. I hope the passion I have for this story is reflected in the minds of my readers.
